If I want to play sports on campus, are there any facilities available?

Absolutely, IITM's sporting infrastructure is pretty fantastic. Students can play the sport of their choice in:

• The Olympic-size swimming pool
• The fully-equipped gym with professional trainers
• The weightlifting arena
• The large IIT-Chemplast cricket ground
• The K.S Narayanan Centre for Cricketing Excellence
• The massive stadium
• The high-tech wood-floored multipurpose indoor stadium
• The athletics stadium
• Four synthetic floored tennis courts and wood-floored badminton courts
• Two world-class squash courts
• Two basketball courts and two volleyball courts
• The hockey & football fields
• The table tennis facility
• The skating rink

The sports culture here is so strong that we host a competitive inter-hostel sports competition called Schroeter, which is widely attended. We also have strong teams at the yearly inter-IIT sports meet in which we're proud to say that IITM has the leading number of wins! Limber up and let's go.
