What is the Dual Degree upgrade option offered?
Asked by
The typical way of pursuing engineering is to spend four years on a B.Tech, and then spend two more years on an M.Tech if the student wishes to. But IITM offers a dual degree program in which students can complete both in 5 years, saving one year of their time and effort.
Some of the specialisations are branch-specific, but you can also avail of an interdisciplinary dual degree program from options like Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology, Complex Systems and Dynamics, Computational Engineering, Cyber-Physical Systems, Data Science, Electric Vehicles, Energy Systems, Robotics, TechMBA and Quantum Science and Technology.
Keep in mind - If you do start out with a B.Tech and then want to upgrade to a dual degree, you will need a CGPA of 8 or above, except for a Tech MBA where you will need a CGPA of 7.5 or above.
There are quite a few IDDD programs in the pipeline too, including Quantitative Finance.
