DETAILS
Process and Schedule
As a first step, we invite current students (and alumni) of IIT Madras to nominate their pre-university teachers in Physics, Chemistry and Math. Students have to explain how the teacher made a difference to their lives. Then, our shortlist committee shortlists 20-25 teachers from all across India and informs those selected privately. In the final round, the shortlisted teachers will invite their current students to vote for them. In addition they will attend a short 15-min interview, based on which our award committee will decide the winners. The winners will be announced, and felicitated at a ceremony in IIT Madras.

IMPORTANT
Why Does This Award Exist?
We believe that the IIT JEE syllabus is beautiful, and includes many exciting concepts in physics, chemistry and mathematics. But, because of the nature of competitive exams, most students are rushing through the syllabus, focussing more on memorising than understanding the concepts.
But not all students. Some are lucky that their teachers are able to make their classes come alive. With their expert guidance, students fall in love with their subjects. They are able to give JEE in a stress-free manner. When they get to college, they continue to see the magic in engineering and perform better than their peers.
