My son is writing the IAT aptitude test and wants to pursue MS Physics in ISSER. He has good marks in Bio and Chem. Can he try medical sciences and engineering AT IIT Madras? Which has better scope, Physics or Medical Sciences and engineering?

The BS in Medical Science and Engineering aspires to bring medicine and technology together, which is the need of the day. With increasing interest in medical technology, there is a market for indigenous med-tech development, ensuring a great future in research and employment for students pursuing this course. Several Nobel Laureates are Medical-Technologists. On the other hand, Physics plays an important role in emerging technologies, including semiconductors and quantum computing. If the student has more inclination towards Biology along with an aptitude to pursue technology, then I recommend Medical Sciences and Engineering. Else, I recommend the program in Physics. Both programs are excellent.
