What is the difference between Engineering and Technology?

You can think of Engineering as the individual steps involved and studying and understanding and optimizing those steps. Technology is the product that comes as a result of those steps being put to use in a specific manner. For example, understanding circuits is part of electrical engineering. A mobile phone which has specific circuits in it, can be described as a technology.
